Adults who went to Boarding School as Children
For many ex-boarders the experience of being sent away to boarding school has a long lasting impact.
Some of the ways you adapted as a child to the school environment may have become problematic in your adult life now.
The privilege attached to private schools can make this difficult to acknowledge and talk about. Perhaps you went to a state or specialist residential school. Each person's background and experience is different and deserves to be fully heard so that it can be understood and integrated.
I have attended Nick Duffell’s specialist psychotherapy training in working with ex-boarders and can help you address issues arising from your boarding experience.
The Boarding School Concern and Seen and Heard websites offer useful resources and information for ex-boarders and their partners.
